CGI is proud to share that Dr. Diane Gutiw, Vice-President and Global AI Research Lead, has been appointed to the Government of Canada’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Strategy Task Force, a select group of 26 experts guiding the country’s renewed approach to artificial intelligence.

In a press release issued by the Government of Canada on September 26, 2025, the Honourable Evan Solomon, Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation, announced the formation of the AI Strategy Task Force—a 30-day sprint designed to help define Canada’s next AI strategy. The group brings together leaders from academia, industry and civil society to develop actionable recommendations on key themes such as research and talent, commercialization, adoption across sectors, infrastructure, security and public trust in AI.
Diane’s appointment reflects her long-standing contributions to advancing applied and responsible AI. With her background spanning health research, public policy and enterprise transformation, she brings a unique perspective to the national conversation on how AI can drive innovation and deliver meaningful outcomes for society.
